daniel_negreanu1_largeDaniel Negreanu keeps on setting an example for poker players by spending time, money and resources on charities. The next activity he plans to realize is the St. Jude Celebrity Poke Tournament, which he is going to host. The event is located in Vdara, Las Vegas, and will be held on November 8, this year.

This is the place to be for those who plan on either winning a poker event or donating and helping in the fight against childhood cancer. Many look up to Negreanu and wish to be like him when he wins major poker tournaments. Now, people can look up to him and say they want to devote time and effort into helping a charity.

By joining a charitable cause, Negreanu joins a list of generous poker players such as Dan Shak (All-in for Kids Charity), Matt Stout, who joined the Charity Series of Poker, Liv Boeree, who was eager to help the Raising for Effective Giving campaign. There is a considerable amount of professional poker players who give great example by being more compassionate and thoughtful.

The benefactors this time are children who have cancer at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This hospital is of great importance to the fight against childhood cancer. Since its establishment in 1962, it has increased the probability of overcoming childhood cancer by the staggering 80%, from 20% before the hospital began operating.

The poker tourney that Negreanu will host will be joined by celebrities and will include buy-ins from $1,000 to $10,000. Prizes depend on the prize of the buy-ins. For example, those who purchase the $10,000 buy-in will have the chance to win a Corvette Stingray. The car is estimated to cost around $60,000. This prize is realized with the help of Fairway Chevrolet.

The other prizes are as well not purely monetary. For example, a $2,500 fee gives you the chance to enter a private party realized with the help of Polaroid FotoBar. Other examples are a poker lesson with Kid Poker or a holiday in a resort at the Fiji Island. The innovative choice of rewards is a great tool to help attract more celebrities to join the charity event. A training in ChoiceCenter University or a Tony Robbins course are some of the unique prizes.

Not all celebrity guests and poker players have been announced. Yet, it is known that Negreanu will be joined by Antonio Esfandiari and poker veteran Phil Hellmuth.

Negreanu has shown awareness of the troubling issues of modern society. He is kind towards charities, however, he stays cold as a stone when it comes to his poker colleagues and rivals. He has made quite some arrogant complaints during poker games which made the public despise him. On the other hand, he seems to want to fix that side of his character and has published an article on his blog, named The Key Ingredient for a Good Poker Game.
