Atari and FlowPlay Release Atari Jackpots

News

Atari_logoEarlier this week, the renowned video game publisher Atari introduced Atari Jackpots – the result of the company’s collaboration with FlowPlay, a leading interactive game developer. This ambitious project marks the popular distributor’s debut on the interactive casino game scene.

Essentially, the new platform includes some of the company’s well-known and highly-praised game brands, such as Breakout, Asteroids, Centipede, etc. They, however, are incorporated in social casino environment. Atari’s management is extremely optimistic about the future of Atari Jackpots.

It appears that the platform will most probably bring the company to its awaited revival, after the serious financial problems it faced last year.

Fred Chesnais, Atari’s CEO, stated that the introduction of Atari Jackpots mirrored the constantly growing popularity of interactive online casino games, and was just the initial stage of the company’s new policy, oriented towards the world of online gaming. He also added, that Atari was keen to interact with its true-hearted fans, and to listen to their opinion on this new project. This way the company would be able to determine as to whether the product should be further developed.

Atari Jackpots will be featuring virtual currency, i.e. gamers will not be able to bet actual money. What is more, the project will include a comprehensive selection of all kinds of games that will be adapted casino versions of some of the classic Atari video games, such as Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, Lunar Lander, etc. The company also promises the introduction of customized popular single- and multi-player casino games such as video poker, bingo, blackjack, solitaire, etc.

The platform will be available around the world, and will feature several international versions in English, French, Romanian, etc.

Todd Shallbetter, president of Atari, announced that more games would be included to the platform in the following months. He also stated that the loyal fans of its classic games would probably be particularly interested and enthusiastic about this new direction the company took. They would be able to play casino games that look like those they had played in their childhood.

FlowPlay CEO Derrick Morton commented on Atari’s involvement in the world of online casinos, as being indicative of their increasing popularity as well as of the course “gaming industry” has taken.

The company’s aspirations, however, are not just limited to Atari Jackpots. Several more projects are expected to be launched in the near future, one of which is the so-called Atari Casino – an interactive gambling platform that will involve real-money betting.

This new initiative is currently being developed and tested so as to be introduced towards the end of 2014. It will be the result of Atari’s partnership with Pariplay, a particularly innovative licensed gambling operator based in the Isle of the Man.
