The name of Georgios “GeoManousos” Sotiropoulos hasn’t been in the news too often but now, it looks like things are going to change. Up to now, the player is mainly popular for the miss at the European Poker Tour.
Two years ago, he was one of the players who conquered the final table at the European Poker Tour that took place in Czech Republic as well.
During the tournament, Sotiropoulos faced tough opponents such as Julian Track whose health was not too stable but yet, he didn’t give up and Sotiropoulos finished second.
Despite being a runner-up, he got a decent amount of money for his participation in the event.
Although he confessed that the only thing he remembers from the event was the inspiration he got when he saw his father encouraging him from the rail, he also confessed that he truly believed that he could defeat Track but unfortunately, during the final table, he was not lucky or skillful enough, or both.
After the event, Sotiropoulos took part in another tournament and all his activities made him the second Greek player to get the highest income from gambling activities and in poker games in particular.
He has recently participated in Super Tuesday and got the first prize, equal to almost $212, 000.
When asked for a comment about the overwhelming victory, Sotiropoulos said that he was really happy to be the winner. He has already taken part in the event two times and finished eighth and ninth so being ranked at the first place is his pride and joy.
The prominent player considers the tournament to be one of the most difficult he has even participated in and the satisfaction he got upon winning can not be compared to anything else.
Needless, to say, his presence at the final table was preceded by lots of efforts. He was a runner – up as far as the number of chips was concerned. The worst of all was that meanwhile he lost a great part of them.
Sotiropoulos found Dani Stern to be the toughest opponent to defeat. However, after beating him, he felt really confident about his skills.
The tournament played a key role in the life of Sotiropoulos. Becoming a winner just confirmed the decision he has already taken – to move to Austria and start taking part in gambling activities as a professional player. And the best of all is that he is more likely to take part in live tournaments rather than in online poker games.
Regardless of his choice, Sotiropoulos is really good at both – live and online poker tournaments. He admitted that he has fallen in love with the game. Sotiropoulos confirmed that his father has had a great contribution to that. No matter where his son plays, he is always encouraging him from the rail and experiencing all his defeats and victories behind the computer screen.
