Tipping Point Gaming (TPG) announced that it will ink a deal with WMS Gaming Inc. The deal will be about obtaining a license for WMS Gaming’s Dunn Patent.
The Dunn patent is a technology that has changed the way video gaming machines work, especially those with older software. What the Dunn patent does is add an external device which can input additional information on the display of the gaming machine.
The additional information can be changed to the likes of the owner, a feature that is not accessible on original gaming machines. The altered information is not static as well. It can be turned into an interactive advertising which can be tweaked to show a gaming room’s promotions, bonuses or brand.
The Chief Executive Officer of TPG praised Dunn as one of the pioneers in the research and development of PIP (Picture-In-Picture) services and his patent being one of the first in the PIP sector. Sam Johnson was pleased to have such a license in possession of his company.
The most important product in the portfolio of Tipping Point Gaming is called PlayItVision. It is a PIP type of system which can add side games with, for example, betting bonuses. It allows gaming operators to add different marketing promos, bonuses and betting games to their gaming machines.
Players, on the other hand, receive better entertainment as they can play different games at the same time, increasing their chance of winning. PlayItVision creates a win-win situation for both casino owners and punters by optimizing limited or outdated gaming machines.
The technology is suitable for all producers of gaming machines and gaming machine software. The most important feature of the PlayItVision product is the efficiency it brings to operators, as it upgrades tremendously the capacity of their inventory. Costs are greatly reduced as machines are updated so that they can operate with HTML5 software, which means legacy slots can display virtually all current third party games and applications. The displayed games and customized information on the machines is controlled by an external server which fully controls the input to the gaming machines.
Sam Johnson stated that the purchase of the Dunn Patent added a great deal of quality to the PIP technologies of the TPG and showed their dedication to enlarge their palette of intellectual property products which currently amounts to more than thirty. The plans of the company is to further increase and improve their products in order to gain competitive edge in providing high quality gaming applications to their clients.
