The authorities of the popular bookmaker William Hill have recently announced that their services in Manila are temporarily unavailable. The reason for the sudden suspension was the investigation, that needed to be conducted with the aim of figuring out if the company has participated in illegal gambling affairs in the Philippines.
The National Bureau of Investigation is in charge of revealing the truth and gathering sufficient evidence that clearly shows if the company has participated in illegal gambling activities or not.
It is a well known fact that the Philippines has really stern gambling rules and regulations. Basically, the local people are enabled to freely use few forms of gambling. The authorities are willing to amend the laws soon but currently, there is no existing rule that clearly states that the online gambling activities are illegal on the territory of the country.
In an announcement, made by a William Hill representative, is said that the managers are truly convinced that the company’s branch in the Philippines has not been involved in any illegal activities. It was also added that the company strictly obeys the laws of all the countries where its products and services are available and the Philippines is not an exception.
For the time being, the products, delivered by William Hill, are unavailable in Manila as well as the customer service. It functions for business online matters solely.
William Hill representatives also added that another provider of the services will be found but it doesn’t mean that the quality will deteriorate. On the contrary – the authorities will do their best to provide gaming products that meets the world standards of excellence.
William Hill has offices in the United Kingdom, Gibraltar, Tel Aviv and several European countries. The authorities reassured the customers that they are currently talking over the idea of rerouting the customer support to the offices that are operating. If they do that, the customers won’t experience the negative effect and the inconveniences the investigation in Manila brings about.
Although Wiiliam Hill is a company, registered in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority, which respectively makes it a reliable one, the investigation and the suspension of the gaming activities was unavoidable.
However, the situation in Manila is not the first of its kind. A similar story happened in Tel Aviv. Three years ago, the office, located in Israel, faced closure because of a serious problem with the management. Their intention was to establish a rival company, which led to disagreements and a collapse in the partnership between William Hill and Playtech.
Luckily, all the issues were promptly solved, which was a clear indication that apparently, there is not a problem the William Hill representatives are incapable of solving. In other words, a positive outcome of the current investigation in Manila is expected to be announced pretty soon.
