Isabelle Andrès, CEO of Betclic Everest, commented on the relocation and said that such a decision was made after careful planning and discussing the advantages and disadvantages it would bring. She also added that according to Betclic Everest’s management, the relocation is a wise move given that their employees will be gathered at one place – namely in Malta where the company has already consolidated its position on the market.
Actually, the relocation was not too surprising to those who are well aware of Betclic Everest’ activities. July was the month when company’s management announced that they were going to review their Gibraltar-based operations and decide what the future endeavours of the company would be. Such a relocation was recommended because the company wanted to optimise the work process as well as its organisational structure.
Andrès also said that once the relocation is finalized, the company can continue its development and rationalization.
Betclic Everest dared to take such an important move with the aim of making its operations in Gibraltar unified with those in the Maltese office.
The company came up with a statement, which says that all Gibraltar-based employees are welcome to relocate to Malta and continue working for Betclic Everest. Currently, 50 out of 200 employees informed the management that they are willing to live and work in Malta.
When the moving is finalized, approximately 300 employees will be working in the office, based in Malta. They will be responsible for IT, customer service, corporate relations. Although Betclic Everest will no longer have an office in Gibraltar, managers announced that company’s disaster recovery data center will be kept in the peninsula.
Once the relocation is done, the company will have three offices only – the one in Malta will be in charge of igaming services and operations, London-based employees will take care of sales and marketing and those in Paris will be supposed to deal with corporate governance and strategy.
As mentioned above, Gibraltar has become a really desirable destination due to a wide variety of factors and many companies have been trying to establish their offices in the peninsula.
Surprisingly, the number of those, willing to relocate, is growing. Betclic Everest is not the only company that changed its position about Gibraltar. Connective Games made their decision to move to Malta as well, igaming operator Mansion announced that it is about to relocate its operations from Gibraltar to Bulgaria.
