Victoria Coren Mitchell
, who became famous for having won two European Poker Tour awards, announced that she will no longer be a part of the Team PokerStars Pro.
The reason why she made that decision was the launch of the latest casino games a few days ago. The poker pro made an announcement on her blog and said that she was about to part ways with PokerStars as soon as possible.
Victoria has been working in collaboration with PokerStars for more than seven years but now she revealed that her principles made her leave the platform for good.
Apparently, she wanted to avoid any rumors and speculations, concerning the contract termination so she gave a detailed explanation why she decided to leave PokerStars’ Team.
Vitoria said that she could not manage to do several things at once and being a part of the platform was against her moral values. She was convinced that it was time for her to start a new venture and part ways with PokerStars. She said that she understands the aim of the managers is to maintain the platform competitive by providing new, appealing games while keeping the importance of the responsible gaming in mind. However, she preferred to participate in live poker tournaments rather than being involved in online ones.
She went on and said that there was a world of difference between live and online poker tournaments. While the first type involves several people, sitting around the table and having equal chances to win, the second one is notorious for having unfavorable odds, a factor, which can be potentially risky to vulnerable groups of the society.
Coren’s mother is a prominent journalist who has been honored to write for some of the most reliable newspapers in the UK. Yet, the daughter decided to dedicate all her time and efforts to become a poker star and it seems like she succeeded in achieving that. Victoria “Vic” Coren Mitchell can take pride in being the only player who have won two titles from EPT Main Events after defeating tough and skilled opponents.
Short before the contract termination, Coren announced that there was a possibility to work for PokerStars again but they should offer her something that includes “pure poker”.
Nevertheless, she shared that despite the fact that she will no longer be a part of PokerStars’ Team, she still considers the platform to be the best place for playing poker online.
In conclusion, she added that there were no hard feelings for PokerStars and she was very thankful that company’s managers respected her final decision.
A representative of PokerStars also commented on the contract termination and said that management understood her concerns and let her go. They did not miss to thank her about the support and all the efforts she made towards popularizing the game of poker and making PokerStars’ fans and managers proud of her accomplishments.
