Dutch Gambling Regulators Encourage Operators to Pre-Apply for a License

News

netherlands-gamblingYesterday, Dutch gambling regulators announced that all gaming operators, willing to continue providing their services on the territory of the Netherlands, are welcome to “pre-apply” and get their licenses renewed.

For operators’ convenience, applications can be submitted through the website of Kansspelautoriteit – the Dutch gambling operator.

There is a special application form, available on the website, but it is accessible in the Netherlands only.

Dutch gambling regulators are willing to provide all operators that express interest in obtaining a license with an incentive. They will keep them informed about every stage of the legislation process and the eventual changes in the licensing requirements that might be implemented next year.

Although it is too early to be predicted which will be the operators to be available on the Dutch regulated gambling market, people with considerable knowledge on the matter believed that one of the operators will, by all means, be William Hill.

What made communities convinced that the UK provider will be available in the Netherlands were some of the latest actions, taken by the bookmaker.

However, the PR manager of William Hill made it clear that for the time being, bookmaker’s executives have decided not to provide services to Netherlands-based players.

Representatives of William Hill sent an announcement to the media and said that the reason why the bookmaker exits the Dutch gambling market is not to endanger the group’s chances for acquiring a license when the new rules and regulations become officially valid.

888poker is also expected to submit an application for obtaining a license. 888Poker officials are going to wait until Dutch regulators come up with clear requirements and reasonable criteria.
Once this happens, 888poker will pre-apply. However, it is important to note that the platform has not been advertising its services for three months.

In order to approve of their willingness to establish well-thought-out and fair gambling regulations, Kansspelautoriteit regulators announced that Imperial E-Club Limited was fined €200,000.

Imperial E-Club Limited is known as the company that manages proven and widely recognized platforms such as Casino Tropez, TitanPoker, TitanBet, Europa Casino, etc. It was accused of providing gambling products and services on unregulated markets.

The gambling regulator made an announcement, concerning the fine, imposed on Imperial E-Club Limited. According to it, the company, which operates a serious number of sites, provides sports betting and various casino games, regarded as illegal on the territory of the Netherlands.

The financial penalty imposed to Imperial E-Club Limited is the most significant sum a company, available on the Dutch gambling market has ever been penalized with.

What made Kansspelautoriteit impose such a serious penalty was primarily the number of sites managed by E-Club Limited and the variety of games available at these websites.
