Jake Bazeley Finishes First at the WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee $1,675 Main Event

30-05-12-10-26-55-jacob-bazeleyRecently, the 2014/2015 World Series of Poker Circuit wrapped up its $1,675 Main Event, which was held at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina. Jake Bazeley, a 31-year-old poker pro from Cincinnati, Ohio, emerged victorious and was awarded the amount of $239,096 and a gold ring. He also secured a seat into the National Championship.

A total of 797 players took part in the tournament and the created prize pool totaled $1,195,500.

Nine poker pros were seated at the final table and Mark Dumonski was the first to leave it. He was eliminated by Bazeley and was awarded the amount of $22,583. This happened in Level 26.

The Greensboro-based player was followed by Corey Bierria and Hai Le. They took eighth and seventh places, respectively. Then, Dan Gilmer defeated Abdoul Kazerouni. The latter received the amount of $46,804 for his sixth position.

In Level 28, Gilmer was eliminated by Chad Deberry. He left the competition with the sum of $61,174.

Gilmer was then followed by Trey Walton, who was defeated by Bazeley. The poker pro from Cartersville, Georgia, took home the amount $80,995 for his fourth position.

Thus, Caleb Brown, Chad Deberry, and Jake Bazeley were the last three players at the final table. Brown was sent home by the soon-to-be-champion. He was awarded $108,671 of the entire prize pool for his third place.

It became clear that Bazeley and Deberry would face each other in a heads-up play, so as for the big winner to be determined. And it was Bazeley who held the majority of chips.

The final hand occurred in Level 30. Deberry had [Ks][Qs] in his hand and Bazeley held [4h][4s]. With the board showing [Ad][9c][4d][3d], the name of the winner was announced.

Deberry, a Florida-based poker pro, took the amount of $147,405 for his second place.

As for Bazeley, he captured $239,096 of the total prize pool as well as a special gold ring. Minutes after his victory was announced, he shared with interviewers that he was quite pleased with his achievement, for he had worked extremely hard to win.

According to the champion, it was not only the money that made him happy but also the fact that he won. The Cincinnati-based player also shared that he was not interested in points, leaderboards, gold rings, and things like that. He said that he just wanted to make money and have fun while playing. And what is most important, he wanted to win.

The 2014/2015 World Series of Poker Circuit is also currently taking place at Harrah’s Resort in San Diego (formerly known as Harrah’s Rincon). The tournament will continue up to December 15.
