Authorities of the state of New Mexico are currently making efforts to provide players with an opportunity that is not available in many other locations. Their idea is gambling facilities to be installed in bars and restaurants.
The New Mexico Lottery is planning to launch a new bingo game called The Lucky Numbers and officials rely on it to solve their financial issues and save the problematic lottery scholarship.
As reported, the revenue generated from lottery tickets turned out to be insufficient and the New Mexico lottery fund has been struggling for several months now.
Linda Hamlin, the spokeswoman of the Lottery, commented that they are trying to keep up to date with players’ demands and be compatible with the fast developing gaming business.
Lottery representatives said that, in order to attract players, they are planning to launch bingo games in restaurants and bars.
The owner of a popular venue in Albuquerque said that people would like the idea of hanging out and drink while they indulge themselves in their favorite game. What is more, the game already attracts a satisfactory number of players.
For the time being, there are 60 venues where the new bingo game is to be available. Eight out of these 60, are located in Albuquerque.
The New Mexico regulators have never allowed the local lottery to provide products and services in venues that serve alcohol. The bingo game is the first attempt the gambling activities to be incorporated in bars and restaurants.
The Lottery’s spokeswoman also said that in order to be successful, the lottery games have to be available at places where a lot of people gather. She also added that there is a great difference between the preferences of the younger generation and the games that were appealing to their parents and grandparents. Young people want to play with friends and have a meal at the same time.
The Lottery of New Mexico has been experiencing financial setbacks for a long time. Officials did their best to save the lottery scholarships but unfortunately, the revenue raised was never satisfactory. That is why officials count so much on the new game and its success.
The payouts of the new game vary between $1 and $10,000. According to the estimates, the bingo game is believed to generate approximately $1 million by the middle of next year.
However, despite the optimistic forecast and high expectations, players have mixed feelings about the game. Some of them regard it as interesting while the other part cast doubt on its effectiveness and the popularity it would reach.
Nevertheless, it seems like the New Mexico Lottery is going to continue providing different amenities to players. According to the latest information, a smartphone app is about to be launched and players will be able to see if they are winners.
