Andy McCue Is the New CEO of Paddy Power

News

paddypowerPaddy Power officials announced that the name of the new chef executive officer is Andy McCue.

The change did not come as a surprise to those who keep an eye on company’s affairs. More than four months ago, Paddy Power’s representatives announced that the former CEO Patrick Kennedy will be replaced by McCue at the beginning of 2015.

Kennedy, who has been working for the company for eight years, left the board after McCue applied for the position.

Actually, Kennedy was supposed to step down from his post in the spring of 2015 but then, Paddy Power’s officials confirmed that the switch was going to take place on January 2nd, 2015.

As soon as he was appointed for company’s CEO, McCue said that his predecessor has done an excellent job and took Paddy Power to new heights.

Now, it is McCue’s responsibility to keep the reputation of the bookmaker untarnished, consolidate its positions on the market and last but not least, take care of the markets where Paddy Power is already a well-recognized brand.

McCue also added that he is proud to be a part of such a dedicated team and he was looking forward to work in collaboration with them. Their top priority will be attracting new customers and making the loyal ones happy with choosing Paddy Power.

The new CEO is not the only new asset for Paddy Power though. Company’s representatives have recently announced that there will be other appointments.

Peter O’Donovan, Johnny Hartnett and Christian Woolfenden are about to take up the positions of a chef product officer, online managing director and managing director for UK and Ireland, respectively. All of them are proven professionals whose involvement in Paddy Power’s matters will be favorable to the company.

Appointing McCue for a CEO of the Irish bookmaker is not a randomly made decision though. Before joining Paddy Power, McCue used to work as a Managing Director of Retail Betting Operations for UK & Ireland. He assisted Paddy Power in dealing with all regulatory and public matters as well, which gave him the chance to get to know the company policies better and enrich his knowledge and experience in the business.

That is why in September 2014, Paddy Power executives settled down around the idea that McCue is the most skillful person, prepared enough to lead the company to the “next phase of growth”.

Apparently, Paddy Power has decided to opt for an innovative approach when it comes to marketing and development strategy and get a reward for its efforts.
