casino-new-nouveau-brunswickIt seems like Casino New Brunswick officials have not given up on the idea of making it a thriving and competitive to the most famous casino venues on a global scale.

Casino representatives revealed details about the renovation procedures and the amenities players have the chance to enjoy.

The venue, based in Moncton, spent well over $2 million on making significant improvements. To be more precise, the exact sum spent by Sonco Gaming was $2.6 million but the sum was granted from a special capital reserve fund.

A part of the casino revenue goes in this fund on regular basis. That is the information revealed by the spokesperson of the Moncton province, Leah Fitzgerald.

During the period 2013-2014, the sum spent on refurbishment was twice as much the amount spent two years ago.

The General Manager of Casino New Brunswick, Craig DeMarta, shared that since the aim of casino officials was to make players’ stay on the premises a memorable and gripping one. In order to achieve that, they have invested in buying new slot machines.

He added that the purchase of the new facilities was not a whim but a well-thought-out move as players can easily get bored and it is his job to keep them coming to Casino New Brunswick.

Apart from the purchase of slot machines, DeMarta said that the buffet was also expanded and the decision was based on proven facts. Visitors are more likely to go to the casino floor and spend some money after having a delicious meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

Generally speaking, the money granted by Moncton province authorities belong to the casino anyway as they form a percentage of the revenue generated.

However, the money is kept in a fund so authorities are sure that casino executives would actually spend them on making the necessary refurbishments.

The casino opened doors four years ago and the owners and local authorities agreed on the following: 50% of the revenue goes to the province’s coffers, Sonco takes 47% and the other 3% are set aside for the capital reserve fund.

Back in 2010, there were mixed feelings about the casino opening as it made the local businesses reduce the video gaming machines that were available.

Reports show that the deal between Sonco and the province brought Moncton $19 million yearly revenue during the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Later, numbers grew to reach more than $24 million in 2012-2013.

Unfortunately, there was a small decrease in revenue for the 2013-2014 fiscal year but DeMarta owes the slight downfall to the bad weather conditions.

The revenues from video gambling activities also marked a small drop but the lottery tickets sales boosted to reach almost $36 million in revenue for 2014.
