american-gaming-associationYesterday, the American Gaming Association announced that six new companies are to join its board. Three new general members will also become part of the U.S. gaming industry association that was established in 1994.

Back in 2014, the AGA’s management team decided to implement certain changes in the structure of its membership and as it can be seen, they are already taking place.

Las Vegas-based manufacturer and supplier of casino gaming solutions Konami Gaming Inc., the popular British betting company William Hill, and CG Technology, which also deals with the provision of various gaming options, are among the new members that were announced to be joining the board. In addition, the so-called Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, known to be the official market organization for the city, is also to become part of the AGA.

The last two new board members are Greenwood Racing Inc., an American racetrack operator, and Seminole Hard Rock Gaming, an operator of gambling venues around the U.S.

The three companies that are to become general members of the AGA are Ainsworth Game Technology Ltd., FinScan Oy, and Electronic Transaction Systems.

Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the association, shared in a special statement that more companies will join the AGA in future. He also pointed out that this restructuring of the membership fully corresponds to the direction gaming industry has taken.

Jim Murren, who is a chairman of both the AGA and popular gambling operator MGM Resorts International, said in the afore-mentioned statement that gaming industry is at its best when its representatives are working together.

Mr. Murren also shared that the AGA’s main purpose is to constantly develop by means of “inclusivity, transparency and a focus on” common issues. He commented that he approves of the gaming industry’s current course of advancement.

The AGA officially represents local gambling industry, which, reportedly, generates more than $240 billion every year. Casinos around the country employ about 1.7 million people, located in forty states. After the announcement from yesterday, the number of the association’s members reached a total of 27 board and 44 general ones. They include both tribal and commercial casino and racing operators, betting houses, gaming software developers, etc.

As the AGA claims itself, its single primary goal is to champion gaming industry and to protect its common interests. What is more, it tries to prevent the public from being misinformed about it. Thus, the association is “paving a pathway” for the industry’s development and further growth.
