A representative of one of the most popular gaming promoters at the Asian gambling market and in Macau in particular, announced that it is about to close its VIP gambling room that used to be available at Sands Cotai Central resort, managed by Sands China Ltd.
Regardless of the closure, company’s Director put an emphasis on the fact that the business ventures of Gold Moon Group are relatively “stable” and the closure is a result of the reorganization plan the company has been following for more than a year.
Officials’ aim is to expand their business and enter foreign markets. Mr Chiu reassured all employees who were worried about their job that the closure of the VIP room will not result in any lay-offs.
The VIP room consisted of 16 tables and it was available for players for more than 2 years.
Actually, that was the second closure of a VIP gambling room in Macau, which was announced over the last couple of days.
Last week David Group‘s representative said that three of the Macau-based VIP rooms will be closed on January 31st. A David Group representative also explained the closure with company’s desire to expand their business outside Asia.
A spokesperson of the government said that the gaming authorities are monitoring every small change and every closure that takes place on the local gambling market.
People with knowledge of the matter did not miss to pinpoint the fact that the campaign against corruption led by the Chinese President is among the fain reasons for the closure of the VIP gambling rooms located in Macau.
In addition, the Director said that the top priority of Gold Moon officials will be conquering Vietnamese and Australian gambling markets, so they had to sacrifice the gambling rooms intended to attract high-rollers since they did not turn a profit anyway.

Mr. Chiu also said that Macau would be one of the key markets for the company and employees who used to work in the VIP rooms of Sands Cotai Cental are more than welcome to choose another company’s property.
Despite the closure of the VIP gambling room at Sands Cotai Central, Gold Moon remains available at Altira Casino, Pharaoh’s Palace Casino, etc.
