However, it looks like Nebraska has to be added to Mississippi and California since the question about poker legislation has been raised recently.

Nebraska authorities are about to discuss the essence of the poker game and if it can be regarded as a game that requires the player to have special skills and strategy or the only thing necessary is good luck.

Their final decision will play key role in making the first attempts towards online poker legislation. In case they consider poker to be a game of skill, a proposal will most probably be submitted to state gambling officials.

In other words, if poker is defined as a game requiring particular skills, it will become compatible with state’s laws and therefore, Nebraska-based players will be permitted to participate in remote poker activities.

For the time being, poker games are prohibited on the territory of Nebraska. However, Senator Tyson Larson is determined to remedy the situation by providing convincing evidence that Hold’em and Draw Poker are games based on skill rather than luck.

By definition, every game which does not give the player a chance to predict what the next move of the opponent will be and what the outcome could be, should be regarded by a game of luck and vice versa, when the player is capable of leading the game to a successful outcome by putting his skills into practice and all participants have equal chance of winning, then, we talk about a game of skill.

Expectedly, the online poker legislation will have its opponents. The majority of officials are totally against the legislation of Hold’em.

There is another side of the coin, though. There is a significant number of residents keen on taking part in poker tournaments. If they want to participate in such a competition, they pay the respective fees and boost the economy of another state. Larson said that he wants the money to stay in Nebraska and online poker legislation is the most effective method for achieving that.

The bill that is about to be introduced proposes operators, awarded a license to be eligible for providing poker games in bars and ensure players have access to their favorite games round the clock. As for the cash games, their percent rake will most probably be 5%.

Apart from the online poker legislation bill, state authorities will have to review the proposal for lifting the ban, concerning the prohibition for participating in gambling activities.

Needless to say, it is an important decision but the idea for allowing Nebraska residents freely participate in all kinds of casino games online has already attracted a lot of opponents and proponents.
