The Chair of Senet Group Encourages Online Operators to Join the Independent Body

News

senet-group_001The new chair of Senet Group – Wanda Goldwag, has recently announced that arranging online operators was essential for the future of the independent body, which is in charge of promoting responsible gaming techniques.

Goldwag said that during the next few months she is planning to meet a great number of operators.
Goldwag was appointed as a chair of the Senet Group a month ago and as soon as she took the reigns of the Group, she started promoting the idea of increasing the number of operators.

She has even planned to visit Gibraltar and meet operators that are headquartered there. Her aim will be to understand why four operators have already signed up so far.

Goldwag gave a brief interview and shared that she does not consider the current members to form a real notion for the gambling industry of the United Kingdom. The Senet Group is set up by William Hill, Paddy Power, Gala Coral and Ladbrokes.

She said that it is really important for the group to establish strong relations with online gambling operators, which disapproved of the accusations that the Group is trying to focus predominantly on land-based venues.

In conclusion, Goldwag added that the new members will most probably have to follow the rules related to the responsible gaming and raise additional funds for advertising campaigns.

However, all operators that join the Group will be given the chance to prove themselves as socially responsible ones.

Actually, that is considered to be a pretty well-thought-out move because if the local gambling providers prove that they take the responsible gaming seriously, they will face less pressure imposed by the regulators.

Last month, the first television advertisement related to problem gambling was launched and soon, a campaign putting emphasis on the gambling behaviour is about to start. There will be advertisements in newspapers as well.

As for the television advertisement, Senet officials said that their aim is to convey an important message in an unobtrusive way. The chief executive of the Senet Group – Ron Finlay, said that the intention of the organizers was to reach out those who are totally against the gambling activities. What Finlay wants is a meeting to be organized and all issues concerning problem gambling to be ironed out.

He also said that if they are aware of the essence of problem gambling, their productivity will definitely be increased, which would therefore, lead to the reduction of gambling-related issues.
