A few days ago, Jimei International Entertainment Group Ltd., a company which is headed by some of the most accomplished junket executives in Macau, announced that it had inked a deal with Crown Perth for its VIP players to be able to opt for the services of the Australian hotel and casino complex.
Crown Perth is an entertainment property, located in Burswood, Western Australia. It is operated by Crown Resorts Ltd., which, in turn, is managed by popular casino mogul James Packer.
Jimei International Entertainment stated in a special filing on the matter that its deal with Crown Perth involves the promotion of 8 to 10 gaming tables. The company also pointed out that their number might be increased at some point in future. In addition, Jimei International Entertainment also said that it will be supposed to meet yearly activity targets. However, no additional information about these was revealed in the statement.
It was also announced that Crown Perth will cover all the respective taxes that need to be paid under the current Australian gambling law.
On January 16, 2015, Jimei International Entertainment said in a filing that it had been allowed to change its name from Sinogreen Energy International Group Ltd. The company has been chaired by Jack Lam Yin Lok since the fall of 2014.
Mr. Lam is known to be the founder of the so-called Jimei Group, which has been one of the most popular VIP junket operators in Macau for quite some time.
As for Sinogreen Energy, it was previously dealing with the sale of rubber keypads, according to reports from local media. The company had already been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange when Mr. Lam took the reins.
As it was stated on Jimei Group’s official website, the group provides its services to eight hotel and casino venues in Macau. Grand Lisboa, which is operated by Stanley Ho Hung Sun’s company SJM Holdings Ltd. is among those eight.
Back in November 2014, it was announced that the Australian state of New South Wales decided to ban the establishment of any business connections as well as all material transactions between a certain person, who was known to be one of Mr. Ho’s associates, and Crown, any of the company’s officials or employees, or any of its subsidiaries. Only this way the popular gambling operator was to be given the necessary approval by local regulators to establish a casino venue in Sydney.
