Barry Gibson and Liz Catchpole to Be Appointed as Non-Executive Directors of bwin.party

Mere hours ago, representatives of bwin.party digital entertainment plc, the popular online gambling company, announced that new independent non-executive directors are to be appointed.

From March 1st, 2015, Barry Gibson and Liz Catchpole will be in charge of company’s affairs.

They are to replace Rod Perry and Helmut Kern who were believed to be invaluable assets for bwin.party and had a great contribution towards its development and popularization.

Nevertheless, the corporate governance code of the United Kingdom requires them to retire. That decision was made during the General Meeting of the company, which takes place on annual basis.

Rod Perry is currently a Senior Independent Director and a Deputy Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, while Helmut Kern is appointed as a Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee. The position of the latter will be taken by Liz Catchpole and Barry Gibson will take the responsibilities of Rod Perry, respectively.

In point of fact, the appointment of Barry Gibson is far from being a randomly made decision. His indisputable leading skills as well as the vast experience in the niche of gambling business convinced bwin.party executives that he would definitely be a huge asset for the company.

Mr. Gibson used to work for gaming giants such as William Hill, National Express Group plc, HomeServe PLC. He also worked for Somerfield plc, SSP Group, Limelight Group PLC, etc. in addition, Mr. Gibson served as an executive director for companies involved in the retail business.

As for Ms. Catchpole, she is experienced in working for various companies in the field of insurance and properties. Currently, she is taking the position of an independent non-executive director and chair of the audit committee for Sembcorp Bournemouth Water and The University of Law.

She has been working for GE Capital for seventeen years; in addition, Ms. Catchpole worked for other companies, which pride themselves in being leaders in their niche on a global scale.
