According to Aquis’ statement, Mr. Geoff Andres has been appointed at the position of Chief Executive Officer. He will be transferred to Canberra in order to manage and supervise the operations of the group, which are located in Australia and lead the further expansion of the company in the region.
Mr. Andres is known for being the current senior Vice President and General Manager of Sands Macau. His responsibilities there included the implementation and completion of a large-scale redevelopment program.
The new Chief Executive Officer’s appointment was commented by the Managing Director of the company – Mr. Justin Fung. He shared that the fact Mr. Andres is to take the lead is considered as beneficial not only to the overall performance of the company, but would also be favorable to the group by helping it develop its vision for the planned entertainment precinct located in the eastern part of the city of Canberra.
In January this year, Mr. Tony Fung, who acquired the site at the price of $6 million in December 2014, shared his exclusive plans for the new project that is to include a new integrated casino as well as a dining and night-life complex.
As reported by reputable local media, Mr. Fung revealed that the project located in the country’s capital city is the company’s “absolute focus” to date. He also said that the appointment of new Chief Executive Officer Mr. Andres is to help it “deliver a world-class outcome”.
This is not the only management reshuffling, which the company has recently undertaken. A few days ago, Aquis announced that Mr. Pat Flanagan, who is an engineer and a project manager, was to take the position of a Project Director of the company.
Mr. Flanagan is known as one of the key figures for the Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort project to date. In addition, he is widely known for the successful development and approval of The Environmental Impact Statement of the company.
