Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event took place yesterday at Lumiere Place in St. Louis. During the event, Josh Turner proved himself to be the indisputable leader who held the majority of chips at the beginning of Day 2 and surprising or not, ended it as a chip leader as well.

There was a total of 415 entries but yesterday, as many as 80 players returned to the final table.

As already mentioned, Josh Turner was well ahead of his opponents as he held 400,500 in chips. In comparison, the player who was considered Turner’s toughest opponent, Byron Hubert, had 261,000 in chips.

Actually, those players whose stacks were higher than Turner’s were few or to be more precise, only five. It took Turner quite some time to eliminate his opponents, though. As soon as 71 players were eliminated, it was Josh Turner’s name that was on the top of the leaderboard. During the 10-hour play he succeeded in earning 2,129,000 in chips.

In point of fact, this is not the first WSOP Circuit Josh Turner takes part in. He can take pride in having made 10 cashes and being awarded a ring. In addition, he made it to the final table six times. For the time being, Josh Turner is ranked second in the leaderboard this season. However, things changed yesterday after his impressive performance that ensured him the first position.

Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event was defined as “fast and furious”. It was a pretty eventful day during which half of the players were eliminated within two and a half hours after the start of the event. Then, the action was slowed down and it took William Byrnes more than an hour to eliminate Frank Patti.

Slowly but surely players were eliminated and by the second break there were 29 left. After six levels of play, another 11 players were sent home. Two hours after the dinner break players who were to have a seat on the final table were determined. The nine players who managed to ensure a seat on the final table will compete against each other today, at 1pm and the winner is expected to be announced later this evening.

Kyle Cartwright and Chris Tryba were also among the players believed to make it to the first places but they did not manage to cash. Josh Reichard who won a Circuit ring three times was ranked 25th. John Longowa became a runner-up. Ben Beighle, Zac Campbell, and Javier Zarco took third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
