The five-day Main Event of the 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour Vienna, held at the Montesino Card Casino, was completed with Konstantinos Nanos emerging victorious after 81 hands to capture €150,000, a trophy, and a $15,400 ticket for the WPT World Championship.

Day 5 of the event saw six players returning to sit at the final table. It started with Vladimir Krastev as the chip leader with 2,379,000. He was followed by Nanos and Sotirios Koutoupas with 1,386,000 and 1,327,000, respectively.

In fact, Koutoupas was the first to be eliminated from the final table, after he was defeated by Krastev on Hand #5 in Level 24. He was paid €29,500 for his sixth place.

It took seven hands before another player left the table. Gaelle Baumann, too, fell victim to Krastev on Hand #12. After her elimination, the latter had a total of 3,650,000 in chips.

On Hand #24, Krastev sent Andreas Freund home. Freund received €49,000 for his fourth place.

Level 25 started with only three players remaining at the final table – Krastev, Nanos, and Thomas Bichon. After Hand #29, Nanos had a major chip lead with 5,005,000. Krastev and Bichon were well behind him with 800,000 and 795,000, respectively.

It took 22 more hands before a player was eliminated. This happened in Level 26, when Bichon could not hold up against Krastev and busted in third place with €65,000. After Bichon’s elimination, Krastev had 2,190,000 in chips. Yet, Nanos was still the chip leader with 4,400,000.

The heads-up play started towards the middle of Level 26 and it took precisely 30 hands before the name of the winner was announced. Level 27 began with Nanos holding 5,785,000 against Krastev’s stack of 805,000 in chips.

Hand #81 turned out to be the last one. Nanos had [Jh][10h] and Krastev held [Ad][Qd]. The board showed [7s][9d][Qs] on the flop. Nanos checked and Krastev bet 125,000. Then, Nanos shoved all in and his opponent called with no hesitation. [8s] appeared on the turn, which meant that the tournament had its champion. [8c] ran on the river, but it has already been clear that Krastev will have to content himself with the runner-up finish and the sum of €103,000.

As for Nanos, he was paid €150,000 and received a $15,400 ticket for the WPT World Championship, which is to be held between April 25-29 at the Atlantic City’s Borgata.
