Since then, the company has been making the headlines as it took actions towards consolidating the positions of the aforementioned platforms on the markets they are already available on and attempted at entering new, profitable online gambling segments.
Ten months after the acquisition, gaming analysts are still keeping a close eye on every action taken by Amaya and trying to predict what the outcome would be.
It seems like the company is not disappointing them as there is always something going on. After a short period of standstill, Amaya is now actively seeking new markets and customers, and worldwide recognition.
Probably the biggest breakthrough for Amaya is receiving approval for becoming available on the New Jersey online gambling market. The company was expected to start offering its services in the Garden State quite some time ago and the delays created room for different speculations.
However, Amaya Gaming CEO, David Baazov, made it clear that PokerStars will make its debut on the New Jersey gambling market in the third quarter of the current year. Its launch is expected to take place at the same time when WSOP is held. If these predictions come true, PokerStars will be given the chance to go ahead of its main opponents – the online poker rooms WSOP.com and 888poker.
The fact that Amaya will not enter the NJ gaming market within the next few months is not a bother as the company executives are constantly looking for new opportunities. Mr. Baazov announced that Amaya is eyeing the fantasy sports market but was reluctant to reveal information about company’s venture before the beginning of June.
Yet, he said that Amaya was looking for the balance between “internal development and strategic acquisition” and added that there was no software which can handle Amaya’s volume, if fantasy sports games are launched right away.
Meanwhile, Amaya Gaming released a report about its financial performance during the fourth quarter of 2014. In Q4 of 2014, Amaya generated the overwhelming amount of $368 million, which compared to the results a year earlier, indicates a significant jump in sales.
The impressive accomplishments enabled Amaya Gaming to seek listing on the NASDAQ. Mr. Baazov commented on the matter and said that they decided to take up such a move with the aim of further popularizing company’s products and boost its influence on the global gaming market. He reassured that the media will be promptly notified about updates, concerning the application.
