The Global Poker Index has released the weekly update of its leaderboard as it does every Wednesday. Ole Schemion tops it once again with 4,207.86 points, followed by Davidi Kitai with 3,910.74 points and Scott Seiver with 3,883.00 points.
Furthermore, it could be easily seen that Top 100 includes five Team PokerStars Pros. Generally speaking, PokerStars, which is currently the biggest online card room, signs poker pros from around the world to represent the brand. And here are its best players, according to this week’s GPI ranking.
Jason Mercier
Florida-born player Jason Mercier currently has 3,523.11 points and ranks 7th in this week’s update of GPI’s leaderboard.
He began gathering popularity in 2008, when he won the EPT Season 4 Sanremo €4,700 + 300 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event for $1,372,893. Only a few months later, Mercier was close to triumphing in the EPT Season 5 Barcelona €8,000 + 250 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event. There, the player finished fifth and was awarded $324,946.
Furthermore, Mercier is the proud holder of two WSOP bracelets and has made it to at least nine WSOP final tables. His earnings from live tournaments currently amount to $13,816,192. The player got his best live cash at a $100,000 + 2,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller event held in Las Vegas last year. There, he was paid $1,622,181.

Daniel “KidPoker” Negreanu
The Canadian is one of the most popular poker players at present with his six WSOP bracelets, two WPT titles, and numerous final tables at the world’s most prestigious tournaments. He signed with PokerStars back in June 2007.
The player currently tops the all time money list with $29,973,907 in live tournament earnings. Negreanu can also be spotted at the PokerStars online tables under the screen name KidPoker.
He got his best live cash at last year’s The Big One for One Drop event with a $1-million buy-in fee. There, he finished second after facing Daniel Colman in a heads-up play. Negreanu was paid the amount of $8,288,001 for his runner-up finish.
Currently, the player has a total of 3,492.23 points and ranks 8th in GPI’s leaderboard.
Jonathan Duhamel
Duhamel was signed by PokerStars in January 2011. The player has one WSOP bracelet and made it to several WSOP final tables. His live earnings total $12,776,585. Duhamel’s best live cash so far amounts to $8,944,310.
The Canadian poker pro is 18th in this week’s update of the GPI ranking and has collected a total of 3,148.35 points so far.
Vanessa Selbst
Selbst is considered to be one of the best female players of all times. The New York-born poker pro has three WSOP bracelets and a number of final tables at prestigious tournaments. She is currently ranking 26th in the all time money list with $10,623,193 in total live earnings. Selbst got her best live cash in 2010, when she won the Partouche Poker Tour €7,750 + 750 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event for $1,823,430.
She joined PokerStars in 2010.
According to latest data, she is ranking 79th in the GPI leaderboard with a total of 2,431.52 points.
Eugene Katchalov
The Ukrainian player currently tops his country’s all time money list with live winnings amounting to $8,577,794. He is known to be the winner of the biggest payout for a non-championship WPT event. In 2007, he was paid $2,482,605 – his largest cash so far – for winning the $15,000 + 400 Doyle Brunson Classic No-Limit Hold’em event.
Apart from his WPT title, Katchalov has also a WSOP bracelet and numerous money finishes at various international tournaments. He signed with PokerStars back in 2011.
The Ukrainian poker pro is 80th at this week’s update of the GPI leaderboard with a total of 2,427.21 points.
