The $3,500 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $5 million attracted 1,476 players. Of those, as many as 554 are expected to return for Day 2. Day 1A was completed with 182 remaining players. Day 1B saw 150 entries surviving for Day 2. And Day 1C ended with 222 remaining players. Poker pros Vanessa Zelbst, Zo Karim, and Aaron Massey were among those who could not make it to the next stage.
It could be said that chip leader Barry Hutter is no stranger to the world of poker. According to official data, he had his first ever cash in a live tournament back in 2010. Since then, he has cashed in various WSOP, WPT and other events. In fact, the player has made it to two WSOP final tables as well as two WPT ones.
