Gambling operator Tropicana Entertainment Inc. announced earlier today that it has inked an agreement with gaming developer Ruby Seven Studios.
Currently, the casino operator owns and manages through its subsidiaries as many as eight gambling venues in Louisiana, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Aruba. More than 7,000 people are employed at the Tropicana properties, which feature 5,525 rooms, 304 table games and 8,035 slot machines. The Las Vegas-based company is a subsidiary of Icahn Enterprises, owned by billionaire Carl Icahn.
The two companies will work together on the launch of a social gaming site, which would allow Tropicana and its venues to offer to customers various free casino games. The new site would also be intended to attract new players from all parts of the world via social media, as well as mobile and desktop applications.
Tony Rodio, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tropicana, commented that the company has been researching the social gaming market for quite some time now and is particularly excited to combine its experience in the provision of land-based gaming options with “Ruby Seven Studio’s extensive expertise” in the development of social games.
Michael Carpenter, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ruby Seven Studios, pointed out that they have decided to work with Tropicana Entertainment, due to the fact that it is a popular and respected brand, dedicated to providing excellent products and innovative approaches that would improve customer experience.
Mr. Carpenter further commented that the two companies are already working on the development of traditional casino games that would also feature new twists.
The deal with Tropicana Entertainment is Ruby Seven Studios’ fourth collaboration with a real-money gaming operator. Back in January 2014, the San Francisco-based gaming developer signed an agreement with Chicago-headquartered gambling operator Rush Street Gambling for the development of social games. Yet, no such games have been launched since the deal was inked.
Later on, Ruby Seven Studios started working in collaboration with Grand Vision Gaming, known to be a manufacturer of gaming devices, for the redevelopment of real-money gaming products into free-to-play social games.
In April 2014, the gaming developer inked an important agreement with major gambling operator Gala Coral, under which the so-called Magician Casino social gaming application was developed and launched.
