This week’s Global Poker Index leaderboard update shows that German Ole Schemion is ranking 1st for yet another week. In fact, this is the eighteenth consecutive week that the player tops the leaderboard. He has managed to best his own as well as Jason Mercier and Dan Smith’s record, who had previously maintained their top positions for seventeen straight weeks.
So far, Schemion has collected a total of 4,123.19 points. According to this week’s update, he is followed by Scott Seiver with 3,967.71 points and Davidi Kitai with 3,862.20 points. Pratyush Buddiga and Byron Kaverman are the other two players who entered top 5.
Scott Seiver, who was born in Cold Spring Harbor, New York, is currently one of the most profitable American players. He is ranking 6th in the US money list and 8th in the all time money list. His winnings from live tournaments amount to $15,194,202. He got his biggest live cash of $2,003,480 for winning the 2013 PCA $98,000 + 2,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller, held on Paradise Island.
The player has cashed in various WSOP, WPT, EPT, and other prestigious tournaments since the beginning of his poker career. Back in June 2008, he won the 39th WSOP $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event for $755,891 and was awarded his only bracelet so far.
In June 2011, Seiver won the Ninth Annual Five Star World Poker Classic $25,000 + 500 No-Limit Hold’em, where he was paid $1,618,344. In April 2012, he triumphed in the PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker V No-Limit Hold’em event and received $500,000.
In 2014, the player took part in the EPT Season 10/FPS Season 4 Grand Final €25,000 + 500 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 8 Max event, where he finished second for $1,189,116. Last year was quite profitable for Seiver, as he was one of all 46 players who took part in the so-called The Big One for One Drop event, fighting for a platinum bracelet and a first-place prize of more than $20 million. There, he finished 6th and was paid the amount of $1,680,000.
As for his performance in 2015, the player finished 5th in the PCA $24,000 + 1,000 #24 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 8-Handed event for $398,340, 3rd in the Aussie Millions Poker Championship A$98,000 + 2,000 #11 No-Limit Hold’em Challenge for $790,139, and 4th in the Aussie Millions Poker Championship A$245,000 + 5,000 #21 The LK Boutique Challenge for $570,284.
