A total of 23 players returned yesterday determined to make their way to the title. Last year’s WPT champion Keven Stammen, however, could not make it to the final stage of the Championship. Day 2 leader Michael Rocco, Zo Karim, and David Tuthill were also among those who left the event before the final table was set.
The 2015 WPT World Championship is to be completed today. Play is set to resume at 4 p.m. local time and as usual, will be nationally televised. As mentioned above, it will start with Alexander Lakhov as the chip leader, who currently has 4,110,000 in chips. He is followed by Asher Conniff with 2,360,000 and Brian Yoon with 1,970,000. Ray Qartomy, Tony Dunst, and three-time WPT champion Carlos Mortensen were the other three players who made it to the final table.
This year, all 239 entries created a prize pool of $3,462,050. The winner will be awarded the amount of $973,683 and a seat into the Season XIV World Championship.
