Erik Seidel Wins EPT Season 11 Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller

The EPT Season 11 Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller event was completed mere hours ago with Erik Seidel emerging victorious over a field of 71 players to win the first-place prize of €2,015,000 ($2,256,900).

Day 3 of the event saw 8 players returning for the final table. The action kicked off with Italian Dario Sammartino as the chip leader with 4,480,000 in chips, followed by Igor Kurganov with 3,645,000 and Thomas Muehloecker with 2,290,000.

American player Scott Seiver was the first to leave the final table after he was eliminated by German Fedor Holz. Seiver took home the amount of €261,800 of the prize pool.

Holz himself was the next to go after he could not make it against Kurganov. He received €337,500 for finishing 7th in the event. By that time, Kurganov was already a chip leader. Holz’s elimination secured the Russian player with 6,370,000 in chips.

Level 20 started with Thomas Muehloecker being defeated by Dzmitry Urbanovich. The player added €427,100 to his live tournament winnings.

Towards the end of Level 21, it was Urbanovich who took the lead after winning a massive pot against Kurganov. By that time, the Pole had 8,720,000 in chips and continued to extend his lead in the levels to come.

Level 22 saw 3 players leaving the final table. Firstly, Urbanovich eliminated Kurganov in 5th place. The Russian took home €551,000. Sammartino was the next victim to the Polish player. The Italian’s share of the prize pool amounted to €709,500. Max Altergott was then eliminated by Seidel in 3rd place for €940,300.

Level 23 and the heads-up play started with Urbanovich holding the majority of chips in play. He had a total of 13,290,000 against Seidel’s 4,465,000.

It took three levels before the winner was announced. Slowly but steadily, Seidel made his way to the victory. The last hand occurred in Level 26 with Urbanovich holding [Kd][9s] against his opponent’s [10h][10c]. The Pole shoved pre-flop and Seidel called. The board ran out [8s][2h][Qc][3c][7c] and it became clear that Urbanovich would have to content himself with a runner-up finish. The player received €1,446,600 for his efforts.

As for Seidel, he was awarded the amount of €2,015,000 of the entire prize pool. Up until now, the American took 5th place in the all time money list. After his latest victory, he climbed to 3th place with about $24 million in live tournament winnings. Furthermore, the player is a pride holder of 8 WSOP bracelets.
