The EPT Season 11 Grand Final €50,000 Super High Roller was completed a few hours ago after just one day of play. Italian player Mustapha Kanit won the event to capture the amount of €936,500.
The €50,000 Super High Roller attracted as many as 66 entries who created a prize pool of more than €3.2 million. Of all the players who entered the event, only the top 9 were to be paid. And it was Russian player Vladimir Troyanovskiy who was eliminated in 10th place and thus, burst the bubble.
The final table started in Level 19. Kanit led with 3,800,000 in chips, followed by Fedor Holz and Mike Watson with 2,625,000 and 2,000,000 respectively.
The first elimination came on the very first hand of the final table play, when Scott Seiver could not stand a chance against Kanit and Martin Finger. The player received €92,860 for his efforts.
Ivan Luca from Argentina was the next to go. The player was busted in 8th place by Holz shortly before the end of Level 19. He took home the amount of €121,700.
The next elimination came in Level 21, when former EPT champion Mark Teltscher faced Kanit, but could not hold up against him. His 7th place secured him with €156,900 of the entire prize pool.
A few minutes later, Andrei Streltsou was busted in 6th place by Holz, and Fabian Quoss was eliminated in 5th place by Watson. They were paid €198,500 and €256,100, respectively.
It took two levels before another player left the final table. In Level 23, Holz was defeated by Watson. He received €329,800 for his 4th place.
Not long after, Finger, the other German at the final table, was eliminated by Kanit. He took home €437,000 and his elimination set the heads-up play between Kanit and Watson. The soon-to-be-champion held the majority of chips from the very beginning.
The last hand occurred in Level 24. Kanit had [Kc][7h] against Watson’s [Kd][5c]. The board ran out [7d][7c][6d][3h][10c] and the name of the champion was clear. Watson received €672,300 for his 2nd place and Kanit was paid €936,500 for winning the event.
This is the player’s best live cash so far and now his live tournament earnings amount to $3,735,915. This makes him 4th in Italy’s money list. Currently, the player ranks 29th in the Global Poker Index leaderboard.
