Season 11 of the European Poker Tour was completed two days ago with Spanish player Adrian Mateos emerging victorious over a field of 564 entrants to win the Grand Final €10,600 Main Event, held at the Monte-Carlo Casino in Monaco.

Every season, the EPT ranks the players who have performed best throughout the year in a special Player of the Year leaderboard. Back in 2014, certain changes were made and three tiers were introduced. Generally speaking, the Silver tier awards points to players who enter events with buy-ins of less than $600, those who enter events with buy-ins of more than $3,000 are awarded Gold tier points, and finally, the Platinum tier awards points for all EPT events.

Players are granted points according to the GPI formula and their rank depends on their performance in EPT events. In order to receive points, they need to take part in events with buy-in fees of more than $1 and to win a portion of the entire prize pool.

After the end of the EPT Grand Final in Monaco, it became clear that Polish player Dzmitry Urbanovich has collected most points throughout Season 11. He tops the Platinum tier with a total of 3,457.79 points. Joao Vieira from Portugal ranks 2nd with 3,295.89 points and Russian Vladimir Troyanovskiy ranks 3rd with 3,128.43 points.

Urbanovich’s performance throughout the season and its second half, to be more precise, was quite impressive. He became the first player to ever triumph in four events during a single EPT festival. Back in March when the Portomaso Casino in Malta played host to the EPT for the first time, he won the No-Limit Hold’em High Roller for €572,300 ($605,929) and 505.80 points, the €1,000 + 100 No-Limit Hold’em event for €35,200 ($38,077) and 177.84 points, the €5,000 + 200 No-Limit Hold’em for €110,000 ($118,991) and 327.87 points, and the €200 + 20 No-Limit Crazy Pineapple Turbo for €3,260 ($3,573) and 10.11 points.

It was only last week when the player almost won the Grand Final €98,000 + €2,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller in Monaco. However, he could not hold up against American poker pro Erik Seidel and had to content himself with a runner-up finish. Yet, Urbanovich scored €1,446,600 ($1,595,368), his biggest live cash so far, and collected 403.64 points.

After the EPT Grand Final, Urbanovich not only topped the EPT Player of the Year Platinum tier, but also his country’s all time money list with more than $2.7 million in live tournament winnings. Furthermore, the player currently ranks 1st in the GPI Player of the Year leaderboard.
