Josh Moua Wins WPTDeepStacks Central California $1,100 Main Event

The Turlock Poker room in Turlock, Central California played host to the WPTDeepStacks $1,100 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, which was completed late last night. Josh Moua emerged victorious over a field of 175 entries to capture the amount of $50,594, a seat into the WPTDeepStacks Championship, the tournament trophy, and a pair of Monster DNA Headphones.

Of all 175 players, only the top 19 were to be paid, with the payouts starting from $1,100. The final day of the tournament saw those 19 returning to set the ten-handed final table. Once this happened, Simon Silas, Mark Johnson, and Jashti Kumar were quickly eliminated in 10th, 9th, and 8th places to receive $2,585, $3,252, and $4,586, respectively.

Miguel Lopez was the next to go, after he could not make it against Aram Alexander. He took home the amount of $6,170. Shortly after the dinner break, Adrian Bolanos was busted in 6th place for $7,921.

The five remaining players then struck a deal to chop what was left of the entire prize pool. Yet, they were to determine who would be crowned the Main Event champion and would receive the seat into the WPTDeepStacks Championship. By that time, Moua was the chip leader with a total of 2,060,000 in chips, followed by Francisco Loera with 1,035,000 and Dana Muse with 630,000.

Of all 5 remaining players, Loera was the first to go, after he could not hold up against Muse. He received the amount of $10,423 for his 5th place. Loera was soon followed by Robert Huff. His 4th place secured him with $13,507 of the prize pool. Once Aram Alexander was busted in 3rd, the heads-up play between Moua and Muse was set. As for Alexander, he took home $19,176.

The heads-up play began with Moua as the chip leader with 2,855,000 in chips against Muse’s 1,520,000. Muse took the lead twice, but her opponent managed to catch up. On the final hand in play, Muse went all in pre-flop with [10d][6h] against Moua’s [8s][6d]. The board showed [Jd][8d][4s][2s][8c] and the female player was eliminated in 2nd place. She received a total of $30,015.

As for the champion, he was awarded $50,594, the WPTDeepStacks Championship Package, and a number of other awards.

The WPTDeepStacks will next go to the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles for a Main Event, which is to take place between July 11-14.
