Magnus Silfverberg announced that he is stepping down from his position of Chief Executive Officer and President of Swedish online gambling operator Betsson AB. Mr. Silfverberg was appointed as Chief Executive Officer and President of Bisnode, known to be a decision support provider.
Pontus Lindwall, who is currently taking the position of Chairman of the Betsson Board, is to replace the gambling operator’s CEO and President. Mr. Lindwall is to assume his new post as of July 20 until a new CEO and President is found, the recruitment process for whom is to start immediately.
Mr. Lindwall is to be replaced by Board member Lars Linder-Aronson as Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Silfverberg has been working for Betsson for six years and was appointed as the company’s CEO and President back in 2011. He is to step down from his position after the operator’s financial results for the first half of the year are announced.
Following the announcement about his departure, Mr. Silfverberg pointed out that he has spent “six fantastic years” at the company, a period during which it tripled its size and quadrupled its market value. The executive also noted that he believes Betsson will continue developing and expanding its operations in future, as he is leaving the company in top shape.
As for Mr. Lindwall, he has been working as Executive Chairman of Betsson for the past four years. Furthermore, he had taken the position of CEO and President of the gaming company for nine years. He commented that Mr. Silfverberg has contributed significantly to Betsson’s growth and current market position and wished him “the best of luck” in his new venture.
The operator’s new CEO and President also pointed out that it will remain focused on providing its customers with the best possible service.
As mentioned above, Betsson AB is a Swedish gambling company. Through its subsidiaries Betsson Malta, BML Group Ltd., etc., the operator offers to its customers various online gambling products, with its casino, bingo, poker, and sportsbook being among the most popular ones.
Recently, the company posted a 24% growth in revenue for the first quarter of the year. Betsson generated a total of SEK847 million for the period in review. Furthermore, its profits grew 39% year-on-year to SEK238 million.
