The 2015 WSOP $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold’em Championship (Event #15) was completed with high-stakes poker pro Shaun Deeb topping the field and eventually winning his first-ever WSOP bracelet.

The $10,000 buy-in event attracted a total of 128 entries, with some of the best poker players in the world being among them. They created a prize pool of $1,203,200, but only the top 18 finishers received a portion of the money. Apart from the WSOP piece of jewelry, Deeb also collected the amount of $318,857 for his first-place finish.

Now, his WSOP live tournament earnings total $860,903 from as many as 23 different events. Overall, the player has won the amount of $2,845,057 from various live tournaments.

The nine-handed final table of the three-day Event #15 featured players who could easily be described as some of the world’s best poker pros and that would not be an exaggeration. For instance, three of the finalists – Greg Merson, Paul Volpe, and Sam Stein – were former WSOP bracelet winners who strove to add yet another piece to their collection.

The heads-up play between Deeb and Volpe did not take long for a winner to be determined but was definitely one that would be talked about for quite some time. It started with Volpe holding a bit more chips than his opponent. On what turned out to be the most important hand, the player lost all his chips but 10,000. Quite expectedly, the last hand in play (Hand #201) occurred shortly after.

Volpe shoved all-in holding [7h][2h] against Deeb’s [Ad][8s]. The board ran out [2c][5s][8d][As][Kc] and that was all for Volpe. He scooped a total of $197,048 for his runner-up finish. Interestingly enough, the Pennsylvania-based player also finished 2nd in the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Heads-Up Championship, which was completed a few days ago.

Jason Les from Costa Mesa, California took 3rd place for $142,747. Sam Stein, yet another California resident, collected $105,364 for finishing 4th in the event. Up to now, his WSOP earnings total more than $1.2 million.

Former WSOP champion and two-time bracelet winner Greg Merson from Laurel, Maryland took 5th place to add $79,182 to his poker bankroll, which currently amounts to more than $10 million.

Dario Sammartino from Italy took 6th place to scoop $60,545 of the entire prize pool. Earlier this year, the player finished 4th in the EPT Season 11 Grand Final €100,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller event for $782,465.

Kristijonas Andrulis from Lithuania finished 7th to receive a $47,081 payout. German player Ismael Bojang ended up in 8th place for $37,227. Las Vegas-based poker pro Jason Koon took 9th place to round the final table and capture $29,911.
