It could be said that there were no major changes in the latest update of the GPI leaderboard. German Ole Schemion is still at its top with 4,125.03 points. Fellow countrymen Scott Seiver and Dan Smith only switched places. So far, the first has collected 3,964.16 points and the latter has scored 3,964.16 points since the beginning of the year. However, poker pro Bryn Kenney continued his climb in the prestigious ranking to reach 4th position. Currently, he has 3,710.19 points.
Kenney has had quite a profitable year so far, which explains his continuing climb in the leaderboard. In January, he collected his biggest live cash of $873,880 for finishing 3rd in the PCA No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller 8-Handed. He scored yet another cash of $112,980 during that same tournament.
The New York-born player could also be spotted at the EPT Season 11 Grand Final in Monte Carlo. There, Kenney topped the field of the €1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Bounty for €20,000 ($22,386). He also took 13th place in the €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller Eight-Handed event to capture the amount of €86,800 ($96,749).
With the 46th Annual WSOP currently taking place in Las Vegas, the player will have the chance to add even more to his poker bankroll. In fact, Kenney has already cashed in two events in this year’s edition of the Series. He finished 2nd in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em or Event #2 to scoop the amount of $287,870. He also made it to the money in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed or Event #12. He cashed $4,836 in that one.
The player is no stranger to the WSOP. In fact, he is the holder of one gold bracelet. He captured it last year, when he won the $1,500 10-Game Mix for $153,220. Overall, he has cashed in a total of 28 WSOP events.
After his latest achievements, Kenney’s WSOP winnings amount to $1,556,112. As for his live career earnings, they total $6,053,239.
The player can also be spotted online under the screen name ‘BrynKenney’. He started playing online when he was 17 under an account he made with his mother’s name. However, he could be seen at online poker rooms more frequently before Black Friday. Now, he seems to be more focused on his live tournament career.
