The 2015 WSOP $10,000 Dealers Choice Championship or the last preliminary event before the $10,000 Main Event was completed late last night with Vietnamese poker pro Quinn Do capturing the title and his second career WSOP bracelet.

The event attracted a field of 108 entries, one of the smallest in this year’s Series. All the players who entered the championship created a prize pool of $1,015,200 and the first 12 finishers collected a portion of it. Do’s share amounted to $319,792.

Despite the modest field, the event drew some of the world’s best poker players. The eight-handed final table featured a total of 6 former bracelet winners, with Do, Paul Volpe, and Jeff Madsen being among those.

Rep Porter from Woodinville, Washington, who has won 2 WSOP titles and has more than $1.8 million in career WSOP cashes, was Do’s last remaining opponent at the final table. The heads-up play started with Porter holding 275,000 in chips against Do’s 2,965,000.

The last hand in play was of the 2-7 Triple Draw variation. Do raised and Porter called. The players drew two cards and Porter led out. Do then drew two more and his opponent drew only one. Porter led out and got two-bet by the eventual champion. At that time, Porter had only 32,000 left and those went in.

Porter tabled [9x][7x][5x][3x][2x] for ninety-seven and his opponent tabled [8x][7x][6x][3x][2x] for eighty-seven and the tournament title. Porter collected the amount of $197,608 for his runner-up finish.

Do is a well-known high-stakes mixed games player. In other words, the Dealers Choice is a format he feels quite comfortable with. When asked about his strategy during the tournament, Do explained that he did not pick the games he was best at, but those his opponents were worst at.

As mentioned above, the eight-handed final table included some of the best poker players of our time. And here is a bit more about them and how much they won in the $10,000 Dealers Choice Championship.

Four-time gold bracelet winner Jeff Madsen from Los Angeles, California took 3rd place to capture the amount of $129,651. Jake Abdalla from Las Vegas, Nevada finished 4th to collect his third-ever WSOP cash of $89,114.

Adam Friedman from Gahanna, Ohio scooped $63,277 for his 5th place in the tournament. He won his first and only WSOP bracelet back in 2012.

Finnish player Jussi Nevanlinna took 6th place for $46,384. One-time bracelet winner David Benyamine from Henderson, Nevada captured the amount of $35,065 for his 7th place.

Rounding out the final table, Paul Volpe, who topped the GPI WSOP Player of the Year ranking for more than 3 weeks but was recently overthrown by Mike Gorodinsky, took 8th place to scoop $35,065 of the prize pool. The player won his first WSOP gold bracelet back in 2014.
