The Global Poker Index leaderboard has just been updated and it could be seen that there was not movement in its top 3 over the past 7 days. Jason Mercier ranks 1st for a fifth consecutive week, followed by Anthony Zinno and Byron Kaverman.

EPT Season 11 Grand Final Main Event champion Adrian Mateos climbed 30 positions to re-enter top 20 of the ranking and take 19th place. The Spanish player has accumulated a total of 3,251.21 points so far after quite a successful and profitable first half of the year. As for his GPI Player of the Year rank, he is 83rd at present with a total of 1,813.37 points.

As mentioned above, Mateos won this year’s EPT Grand Final €10,600 Main Event to capture the amount of €1,082,000 ($1,214,161) of the entire prize pool. The 21-year-old poker pro marched his way to the victory through a field of 564 of the world’s best players.

Apart from his triumph in Monaco, he also emerged victorious in two other EPT Season 11 events. In February, he won the Casino Barriere de Deauville €5,250 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Cash 6 Max for €36,290 ($41,448). On the very same day, he also topped the field of the €2,150 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo Cash 6 Max to collect the amount of €31,450 ($35,920).

The player cashed in two more EPT Season 11 events during the inaugural Malta festival as well as in the 2015 WSOP $10,000 Main Event. Overall, Mateos’ live tournament earnings amount to $3,552,006 and he ranks 2nd in the Spain all-time money list, with Carlos Mortensen being the only standing before him.

Despite his tender age, Mateos has already won one WSOP gold bracelet. In 2013, he triumphed in the annual WSOP Europe €10,000 Main Event, held at Casino Barrière d’Enghien in Enghien-les-Bains, France, to collect the prestigious piece of jewelery and the amount of €1 million ($1,351,661).
