A notable returnee to top 30 of the leaderboard this week was Thomas Marchese. The New Jersey-born player, now residing in Las Vegas, climbed 12 positions over the past seven days and is now taking 30th place with a total 2,744.39 points.
At the age of 27, Marchese has appeared at the tables of some of the world’s most prestigious and exciting tournaments and has cashed in quite a lot of them. His live tournament earnings currently amount to $11,263,904. Over the past eight months, the player topped the fields of two Aria High Roller events, finished 2nd in a WSOP event, and had a sixth-place finish in the inaugural Super High Roller Bowl. In addition, Marchese cashed in several other events.
In January, the professional poker player won two Aria High Roller events in two consecutive days. First, he emerged victorious in the Aria High Roller II $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em for a payout of $383,060. On the very next day, Marchese also topped the field of the Aria High Roller III to collect $298,816.
In June, the player finished runner-up to Paul Michaelis in the WSOP $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em. He received a second-place prize of $117,199.
In July, Marchese was one of the prominent poker pros who appeared at the final table of the first-ever $500,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller Bowl. He finished 6th in the event to add $1,075,000 to his poker bankroll.
It could be said that the player’s first major poker achievement was his 1st place in the 2010 NAPT Deep Stack Extravaganza $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em event. His triumph secured him with a payout of $827,648. In 2012, the player won the WPT World Championship $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller for $1,308,405.
Last year was particularly profitable for the Las Vegas-based poker pro. In September, he won the Aria $100,000 Super High Roller II, with his share of the prize pool totaling $1,306,800. Last December, Marchese captured his best live cash so far. He finished 2nd in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em Alpha8 Las Vegas to receive $1,574,518.
Given his abilities and enthusiasm, the player will most definitely continue adding significant amounts of money to his poker bankroll as well as trophies to his existing collection.
