Philippine gambling and hospitality operator Bloomberry Resorts Corp. has been given the green light to re-launch its recently renovated casino on South Korea’s Jeju Island later this month. The so-called Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino is Bloomberry’s first venture outside the Philippines.

Commenting on the upcoming opening, Enrique Razon Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Philippine company, said that they are extremely excited to introduce their operations to South Korea and the Jeju Island in particular. Mr. Razon further noted that they have put quite a lot of effort in order to equip the property with everything needed to provide customers with the best gaming experience.

Bloomberry announced its plans to renovate the said property and to run it as Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino back in May. After four months of work, Phase One of the project is to be launched later this month. Phase Two of the multi-step renovation plan is to be completed before the end of the year.

Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino has been described as a destination casino resort and is to feature 208 hotel rooms, a 2,125-square-meter casino floor, a number of dining options, including both traditional South Korean and international cuisine, a bar and lounge, an event center, as well as a number of other leisure and entertainment options.

Bloomberry also revealed that the casino space will offer gambling customers “premium gaming facilities” with blackjack, baccarat, Sic Bo, roulette, and other games being included. In addition, the gambling venue will feature the latest slot machines and electronic games available in the South Korean market in order to provide visitors with the best possible experience. Here it is important to note that similarly to most of the country’s casinos, this one too will allow access only to foreigners.

Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino is located in a near proximity to the Jeju International Airport, which means that it is likely to draw the attention of a great number of international gambling customers, mostly from the Asia-Pacific region.

According to a Monday disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Bloomerry owns a 96.23% stake in the property, of which 86.23% are held directly and the remaining 10% are held through the company’s South Korean subsidiary Solaire Korea Co., Ltd.
