The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported the financial results of the gambling operators that provide their services in Atlantic City for August 2015. Revenue amounted to $258.6 million, down 5% as compared to the $272.3 million posted for the same month a year ago.

It is important to note that the reported drop did not include the casinos that closed doors after August 2014. Including those, the annual decrease was 15.2%.

Revenue from online gambling amounted to $12.2 million, up 15.8% year-on-year. In comparison, the amount of $10.5 million was reported for August 2014.

Last month, Bally’s Atlantic City generated revenue of $23.4 million, down 9.2% year-on-year. The Borgata was the top performer among the casinos that operate in Atlantic City. The venue posted overall revenue of $74.8 million, up 7.8%. Casino operations generated $71.1 million and Internet ones generated a total of $3.7 million.

Caesars posted revenue of $31.4 million, down 28.6%. Caesars Interactive New Jersey, or Caesars’ online gambling operations, generated $2.8 million, up 2.2%. Revenue at Golden Nugget increased 27.8% to reach $22.4 million. Of those, $20.2 million were from casino operations and $2.3 million were from online gambling.

Harrah’s generated a total of $35.5 million in August, posting a decrease of 8.7%. Revenue at Resorts increased 18% year-on-year to reach $17.6 million. Resorts Digital, which was granted the necessary casino license on August 12, 2015, reported proceeds of $735,140.

Tropicana posted revenue of $31.1 million, down 7.3% year-on-year. Casino operations contributed $28.3 million to the overall results and proceeds from Internet gambling amounted to $2.8 million.

Trump Plaza’s Internet operations generated $709,674 in August. The casino closed doors in September 16, 2014 and the online gambling site betfair.com shifted its operations from Trump Plaza to Golden Nugget in November 2014.

Trump Taj Mahal reported August revenue of $18.9 million. It dropped more than 24% as compared to the figure posted for the same month a year ago.

The casino operators providing their services in Atlantic City have generated a total of $1.73 billion since the beginning of the year. Excluding the discontinued operators, revenue increased 3.2% as compared to the $1.68 billion reported for the same period a year ago. Including those, revenue dropped 10.3% from the $1.93 billion posted for the eight months ended August 31, 2014.
