British gambling operator Ladbrokes today announced that it has appointed Kristof Fahy as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Having quite a long experience in the field, Mr. Fahy would be responsible for the marketing and brand activity regarding both the company’s retail and digital operations.
Up to now, the executive worked for Telegraph Media Group where he took the same post and was in charge of the company’s digital and marketing acquisition and the related activities. Mr. Fahy also spent a little more than five years at rival gambling operator William Hill as its Chief Marketing Officer.
Ladbrokes’ new Chief Marketing Officer will report directly to the company’s Chief Executive Officer – Jim Mullen – and will join its management team. It is also important to note that if and once the proposed merger between Ladbrokes and rival Gala Coral is completed, Mr. Fahy will be appointed as Chief Marketing Officer of the new enlarged business entity. He will also join its senior management team.
Commenting on the latest announcement, Mr. Mullen said that Mr. Fahy is a man with “exceptional experience” in the field and is therefore well-informed on how new recreational customers could be drawn and retained.
The executive also explained that he knew that he would need an experienced marketing professional from the moment he announced that Ladbrokes would aim at building a long-term “recreational scale.” He pointed out that in Mr. Fahy he saw the right person that would help the company maximize its spend and attract and retain new loyal customers. Thus, the operator would most definitely be able to fulfill its long-term ambitions.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr. Fahy said that he is extremely happy to join Ladbrokes at a time when the company has introduced its “ambitious organic plan” with marketing as a crucial element in that plan and has announced its possible merger with Gala Coral. He noted that the major gambling operator will most certainly face a number of challenges on the path it has taken, given the fact that the market is highly competitive at present. Yet, according to Mr. Fahy, the opportunities for Ladbrokes are numerous, “exciting and deliverable” and it really is the best possible time to join Mr. Mullen and the gaming company’s team.
