Ohio Casino Revenue Increases 2% in September

The Ohio Casino Control Commission posted the financial results of the state’s four casinos for September 2015. Revenue increased almost 2% year-on-year to reach $64.3 million. According to the information released by the state gambling regulator, September was the second lowest month in terms of revenue this year.

Revenue at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati amounted to $15.4 million in September. In comparison, the amount of $16.2 million was posted for the same month a year ago. Last month, the gambling venue featured a total of 122 table games and 1,990 slot machines. Proceeds from the first totaled $5.2 million and revenue from the latter amounted to $10.3 million.

Horseshoe Casino Cleveland was the other Ohio casino to experience a drop in its September revenue. It amounted to $15.8 million last month, compared to $15.8 million posted for the same 30-day period a year ago. In September 2015, the casino featured 125 table games, which generated a total of $6.8 million, and 1,658 slot machines, which contributed $9 million to the venue’s overall revenue.

Both Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and Horseshoe Casino Cleveland are developed and managed by Rock Ohio Caesars LLC, a joint venture between gambling operators Rock Gaming LLC and Caesars Entertainment Corporation.

The other two casinos within Ohio’s borders – Hollywood Casino Columbus and Hollywood Casino Toledo posted increases in their revenues in September 2015 as compared to the same month a year ago. The two venues are run by Penn National Gaming Inc.

Revenue at Hollywood Casino Columbus amounted to $17.4 million compared to $16.8 million reported for September 2014. Last month, the venue offered 114 table games and 2,283 slot machines. Table games generated a total of $5.7 million and slot machines contributed $11.7 million.

Last but not least, Hollywood Casino Toledo generated $15.8 million in September. In comparison, it posted revenue of $14.5 million for the same month a year ago. The gambling venue had 79 table games and 2,050 slot machines this September. Revenue from table games totaled $3.1 million. Proceeds from slot machines amounted to $12.7 million.

Statewide, the four gambling venues generated $64.3 million. Last month, there were a total of 440 table games and 7,981 slot machines featured within Ohio’s borders. Revenue from table games amounted to $20.8 million and slot machines generated 43.5 million.

The four casinos posted overall revenue of $609.3 million for the first nine months of the year compared to the amount of $612 million for the same period a year ago.
