One more event in the schedule of the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Southern Indiana was marked as completed. Event #7 or the $365 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty ended with Horseshoe Southern Indiana regular Michael Bailey from Louisville, Kentucky emerging victorious to claim his first WSOP Circuit gold ring and the amount of $9,396.

Although Bailey is a frequent visitor to Horseshoe Casino Indiana, he is relatively new to the WSOP. In fact, this was his second ever appearance at a Circuit event. And as it seems, it was quite a successful one.

The two-day $365 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty attracted 174 entries who created a prize pool of $34,800. The money was distributed among the top 18 finishers, with payouts starting from $467. What is more, organizers revealed that each collected bounty was worth $100. Almost immediately after his victory, Bailey said that he had obtained 12 bounties over the course of the event.

Day 1 of the event started on Wednesday at noon local time and it took 19 levels of play before the nine final table players were determined. They returned for Day 2 and the name of the winner became known shortly before the end of Level 23. Bailey started the final table second in chips.

Although he was new to the WSOP Circuit, the eventual winner played as if he had done this many times before. He faced some tough opponents over the course of the final table, with two former gold ring winners being among those. Two-time gold ring winner Jason Hill and Robert Cheung, who has previously won one gold piece, were among the finalists.

And Barbra Walston from Cincinnati, Ohio was the last person standing between Bailey and the piece of WSOP Circuit jewelry. Unlike her opponent, Waltson has previously cashed in 10 Circuit events. However, on what turned out to be the last hand in play, the female poker player could not stand a chance against Bailey’s [Jh][9c] and had to content herself with the runner-up finish and a consolation prize of $5,807.

Jason Hill from Burton, Ohio finished 3rd in the event to scoop a payout of $4,180. John Denman from Louisville, Kentucky took 4th place for $3,064. Canadian Robert Cheung collected $2,285 for his 5th place in the tournament.

James Casement from Saint Charles, Illinois finished 6th for $1,734. Frank Schinco from Frankenmuth, Michigan collected $1,338 for his 7th place. Matthew Johnson from Smyrna, Tennessee took 8th place for a payout of $1,050. Luis Martinez from Marietta, Georgia rounded out the final table to scoop $837 for his 9th place in the event.

With Event #7 being completed, there are 5 more gold rings waiting for their owners. The WSOP Circuit will be at Horseshoe Southern Indiana up to October 12 when the $1,675 Main Event is scheduled to end.

Commenting on his WSOP Circuit experience, Bailey said that he had had a great time and really enjoyed it. Now, the player is planning to enter the Main Event in an attempt to turn his WSOP Circuit four-figure score into a five- or six-figure one.
