A third gold bracelet found its owner at the WSOP Europe. This year’s edition of the prestigious poker festival is hosted by Spielbank Berlin, a popular gambling venue in the capital of Germany. Last night, British player Richard Gryko topped the star-studded field of the €3,250 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight-Handed event to win his first WSOP piece of jewelry and the amount of €126,345 in prize money.

The three-day tournament attracted 161 entries who created a prize pool of €468,510. The top 20 finishers received a share of the money, with the payouts starting from €5,015.

Day 3 of the event saw eight players returning to play the final table. Mikkel Plum started the day as the chip leader holding 482,000 in chips. Gryko was second in chips at the beginning of the day. He had 444,500 in chips.

Play resumed from Level 18 and it took two levels for the heads-up match to be set. Gryko faced Canadian Mike Leah, who won his first WSOP gold bracelet last year. The heads-up play started shortly before the end of Level 20 with Leah holding two times more chips than his opponent. However, Gryko managed to catch up and to eventually take the lead.

The last hand in play came in Level 25. Gryko opened to 90,000 and Leah called. The flop came [Ad][Kd][6s]. Gryko bet 70,000 and Leah shoved all in for the last 280,000 he had. Gryko tabled [Ac][Jh][10d][2d] against his opponent’s [Ah][Ks][7c][6c]. The [10c] appeared on the turn and the river came [3d], securing Gryko with a flush. Thus, Leah had to settle for the runner-up finish and a payout of €78,150.

Mikkel Plum from Denmark took 3rd place in the event to scoop €55,755. Roberto Romanello from the United Kingdom finished 4th for €40,480. Lawrence Lazar from the United States took home the amount of €29,940 for finishing 5th.

Benjamin Pollak from France took 6th place and collected €22,535. Italian Max Pescatori, who captured two gold bracelets this summer, finished 7th in last night’s €3,250 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight-Handed. His payout amounted to €17,240. Rounding out the official final table, Ismael Bojang from Austria took 8th place to add €13,445 to his poker bankroll.
