The $15,400 buy-in Tournament of Champions will be televised and is slated to start on April 21, immediately after the end of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The winner will be crowned “champion of the champions.”
Commenting on the latest announcement, Adam Pliska, CEO and President of WPT, said that by giving Season XIV winners and members of the WPT Champions Club the chance to compete against each other they will truly create a championship event.
Apart from the addition of the Tournament of Champions, WPT also announced its schedule for the second half of Season XIV. There will be a total of seven Main Tour events next year. WPT is scheduled to stop at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Canada, Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, Montesino Vienna in the capital of Austria, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, of course.

She also noted that they have added several exciting international stops to the WPT National schedule, too. WPT tournaments are to take place in Belgium, Malta, Austria, South Africa, the Philippines, etc. In addition, Season XV of WPT will kick off in Holland Casino in Amsterdam.

Sexton further commented that he is particularly keen on the format of the tournament and on the fact that world’s best poker players will be given the chance to compete against each other and “determine the ultimate champion.”
