Daniel Evans Wins 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe $365 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack

Daniel Evans from Chico, California has just emerged victorious in the $365 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack or Event #7 on the schedule of the 2015/16 WSOP Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe poker festival. The player bested a field of 346 entries to collect $23,874, his second-ever WSOP Circuit cash, and his first career gold ring.

All 346 hopefuls who entered the tournament created a total prize pool of $103,800. The top 36 finishers received their portion of the money, with payouts starting from $537. The event ran from November 4 to November 5.

The final table was reached on Day 2. Nine-handed play started with two-time gold ring winner Cary Marshall as the chip leader. The player had a total of 2 million in chips. Evans was seventh in chips at the beginning of the final table. At the time of the first break, two players have been eliminated and Marshall has managed to extend his chip lead.

By the end of Level 27, it was Evans who held the majority of chips over his remaining four opponents at the final table. Three-handed play was particularly tough for the soon-to-be-champion as he had two face two multiple gold ring winners – Marshall and Mark Bonsack. Both players have previously won two gold pieces each.

And it was Bonsack whom Evans had to play against in the heads-up match. Play started with Bonsack holding a bit more chips than his opponent. Despite being less experienced than the former two-time gold ring winner, Evans managed to hold up against him and to eventually capture the gold piece and the first-place prize. As for Bonsack, the Cle Elum, Washington resident took home the amount of $14,759 for his runner-up finish.

Cary Marshall from Sun Valley, Nevada took 3rd place for $10,767. Bryan Haycraft from Lakewood, Colorado finished 4th for $7,986. Jeff Lester from Lincoln, California collected $6,016 for finishing 5th in the event.

Michael Riddle from Elk Grove, California took 6th place for $4,601. Casey McDaniel from Castro Valley, California secured a payout of $3,571 for finishing 7th. Matthew Betti from Cupertino, California finished 8th to scoop $2,811 of the prize pool. Rounding out the final table, Thomas Clark from Aptos, California took 9th place to receive the amount of $2,244.
