Maryland Casinos Report Revenue Growth in October

Maryland’s five casinos generated total revenue of $94.8 million in October, Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported on Thursday. The posted amount represents a 9.2% increase from the $86.8 million reported for the same month a year ago.

All five casinos posted revenue gains in October. The state gambling regulator pointed out that the positive results could be attributed to and were indicative of the growth of Maryland’s gambling market since Horseshoe Casino Baltimore opened doors last year.

Hollywood Casino Perryville posted October revenue of $6.2 million, up 1.6% year-on-year. The venue operated 850 slot machines, 12 banking table games, and 10 non-banking ones. Daily revenue per slot machine amounted to $199.53. Banking table games generated an average of $2,329.23 per day. Non-banking ones generated $328.98 daily.

Revenue at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore totaled $24.7 million in October, representing a 9.8% growth as compared to the figures posted for the same month a year ago. The casino featured 2,200 slot machines, 153 banking table games, and 25 non-banking ones last month. Revenue per slot machine per day amounted to $202.51. Banking table games generated average daily revenue of $2,130.01. Average daily revenue from non-banking table games amounted to $968.80.

Maryland Live! Casino in Hanover posted revenue of $55 million in October, up 9.3% year-on-year. The casino operated as many as 4,059 slot machines, 150 banking and 52 non-baking table games. Slot machines generated average revenue of $272.38 per unit per day. Revenue from banking table games amounted to $3,989.68 per day. Non-banking table games generated average daily revenue of $1,311.89.

Revenue at Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Cumberland increased 10.8% year-on-year to $4.2 million. The gambling facility ran 631 slot machines, 16 banking table games, and 2 non-banking ones in October. Slot machines generated daily revenue of $190.54 per unit. Average daily revenue of $937.17 was posted for banking table games and of $241.5 for non-banking ones.

Casino at Ocean Downs in Berlin reported October revenue of $4.7 million, up 13% year-on-year. Last month, the casino featured 800 slot machines. Revenue per slot machine per day amounted to $187.72. Casino at Ocean Downs does not feature banking and non-banking table games.
