Internationally recognized lottery supplier Scientific Games Corp. announced on Thursday that its subsidiary Scientific Games International, Inc. had signed a new contract to provide the Arizona Lottery with its integrated lottery system.
Under the terms of the contract, the gaming provider will supply the Arizona Lottery central computer systems with a number of management services. Scientific Games will also provide a number of other important solutions, such as retailer telecommunications network, in-store digital content system, player self-service and retail point-of-sale technology, etc.
The Arizona Lottery pointed out that the contract was awarded after it had carried out a competitive procurement process. The agreement is to become effective as of August 31, 2016 and will be valid for the next five years. It also could be extended for an additional five-year period, if the Arizona Lottery finds such a collaboration profitable. The Lottery reported overall retail sales of $750 million for the past fiscal year.
Tony V. Bouie, Executive Director of the Arizona Lottery, said that they have an aggressive growth strategy and Scientific Games will give them the best possible opportunity to achieve a considerable retail sales growth in a constantly changing market environment.
Scientific Games first began providing the Arizona Lottery with a suite of its instant games back in 1981, when the lottery launched its operations. The company was granted the five-year contract due to the fact that it had proposed “innovative products and services” that aimed at supporting the Arizona Lottery’s strategy to always meet customers’ needs and to increase lottery sales and profits in the years to come.
Commenting on the agreement, Pat McHugh, Senior Vice President of North American Lottery Systems for the supplier, said that the Arizona Lottery has done its best to create a strong brand over the past thirty years. The executive also noted that under Scientific Games’ contract for the provision of instant lottery products, the Arizona state lottery operator has managed to grow its instant game sales across the state.
Mr. McHugh added that they are extremely delighted with the continued trust in their product offering and are looking forward to innovating the Arizona Lottery’s operations and presenting its customers with a new selection of the supplier’s latest and most popular titles.
