Not much changed in top 5 of the GPI leaderboard this week. Byron Kaverman is topping the ranking for a seventh consecutive week with 4,407.20 points. Jason Mercier is second with 4,275.56 points, followed by Anthony Zinno with 4,025.88 points and Nicholas Petrangelo with 3,816.52 points. Bryn Kenney left top 5 of the ranking to make room for Dan Smith, who has collected a total of 3,792.67 points since the beginning of the year.
Following his more than successful performance in this year’s edition of the WSOP Europe €10,450 Main Event, which he actually won to collect his second WSOP gold bracelet, and an 8th place in the EPT Season 12 Malta €10,300 High Roller, Kevin MacPhee took 9th place in this week’s update of the GPI leaderboard. This has been his best GPI rank ever.
MacPhee is not a newbie to the world of poker. In fact, the American poker pro’s live tournament earnings currently amount to $5,342,029. The player has collected those over the span of the past nine years and in a total of 88 different events.
It could be said that 2015 has been MacPhee’s most profitable year since the beginning of his live poker career. The player has won a little less than $2 million since January. And what is more, he managed to capture his two WSOP gold bracelets this year.
MacPhee won his first gold piece during the summer edition of the Series. He topped the field of the WSOP $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo. Apart from a gold bracelet, he also scooped the amount of $490,800 of the entire prize pool.
Bracelet number two came a little less than a month ago. The player won the WSOP Europe €10,450 Main Event, which is indisputably one of the world’s most prestigious poker tournaments, annually gathering hundreds of hopefuls from around the world. MacPhee’s payout amounted to €883,000 ($1,001,577).
Following his triumph in the WSOP Europe, the player also finished 8th in the EPT Season 12 Malta €10,000 High Roller. It is interesting to note that he took 8th place in the same event during the EPT Season 12 Barcelona stop.
MacPhee is not a stranger to the online poker scene, as well. According to the latest statistics, the professional poker player has collected a total of $7,094,468 in the rooms of different online poker sites. MacPhee could be spotted at the tables of PokerStars, Full Tilt, partypoker, 888poker, etc. under the screen names ‘ImaLuckSac’, ‘Wu_Wizard’, and ‘ImaMark’.
