During Day 3 of the European Poker Tour, which took place in Prague, the Czech Republic, the names of several players stood out from the rest. Day 3 of the Main Event concluded on Sunday and the money bubble that popped managed to completely change the leaderboard. As many as 151 players are to get their piece of the created price pool, but 252 players were sent home empty pocketed.
Gleb Tremzin started the day as a chip leader holding a total of 610,500 in chips. However, he had to deal with some challenges from Samuel Chartier, the Day One leader, and Niall Farrell, the latest EPT champion.
As the game action unfolded, Chris Moneymaker eliminated Christian Jeppsson. Ruben Visser lost some of his chips because of Johnny Lodden who flopped the world on a 9-A-9 flop and was holding A-9. Visser confidently folded his hand and as soon as Lodden showed his cards Visser flashed the Kings. Both players congratulated one another on the good play. Another notable player who managed to climb the leaderboard was Mustafa Biz but unfortunately, he was eliminated in the early part of the third day of EPT.
After three hours or so, the remaining players focused on gaining a bigger stack or hoarding what they had with the aim of turning a good profit. After the break, Jesus Muriel Gracia sent Anton Sulymka to the 152nd place, which therefore meant that all the other players were to get their part of the accumulated prize pool.
Chartier used to be the chip leader holding almost a million in chips, but Kent Roed and Hossein Ensan changed that pretty soon. The latter sat at 1.14 million chips after leaving Roed drawing dead.
Soon after Ensan took the lead, he was challenged by Julian Stuer and Abbas Moradi who pushed small raises back and forth and Moradi was all in. Anyway, Moradi managed to keep his leadership despite Stuer’s pocket Kings and scooped a total of 1.067 million in chips.
By the end of the day, Moradi has successfully increased the number of chips. Preben Stokkan became the runner-up holding 1.175 million. The third position was occupied by Hossein Ensan. In point of fact, Ori Miller and Ivan Deyra, taking 6th and 7th place, respectively, were the only players who were among the top ten before the start of Day 3.
The final table event is to kick off on Wednesday but before that EPT players and fans have to prepare for two days of quick action. Expectations are that there will be “fight for every chip” but just one of the remaining 67 runners will triumph and capture €921,540 on the payday.
