Poker Professionals to Face Asian Businessmen in WPT National Philippines $200,000 Triton Super High Roller

The first of its kind $200,000 Triton Super High Roller – Cali Cup, part of the WPT National Philippines schedule, is just a few days away. The event will run on January 3-4 at Solaire Resort & Casino in Manila.

Recently, the WPT and the Cali Group provided more details about the exciting tournament. For instance, apart from the largest share of the prize pool, which is yet to be announced, the winner will also be awarded a 14k Aurae Solid Gold MasterCard.

It was also announced that the event with the largest buy-in in the WPT history would pit some of the world’s best poker professionals as well as affluent poker enthusiasts from the Asia-Pacific region. And the names of some of the entries that are to take part in the thrilling tournament have already been revealed.

Phil Ivey, known to be the holder of ten WSOP gold bracelets and the winner of a number of other prestigious events, will be among the poker pros at the tables of the $200,0000 Triton Super High Roller. Given the fact that the player has generally been recognized as one of the world’s best not only on the live circuit but also on the online felt, Ivey will most certainly be among the event’s headliners.

German poker professional Fedor Holz, who recently collected $1,589,219 for winning the WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas, was also announced to be among the entries of the upcoming Super High Roller Tournament. The young German has established himself as quite a skillful high roller player for quite a short period of time.

Tom Dwan, best known for his online achievements, Sam Trickett, who finished runner-up to Antonio Esfandiari in the 2012 WSOP BIG ONE for ONE DROP, online specialist Andrew Robl, and Vivek Rajkumar, who won 2008 WPT Borgata Poker Open Main Event, are also among the high stakes players who will most certainly be seen at the tables of the $200,000 Triton Super High Roller. And to complete the list of the announced entries, Andrew Pantling, Daniel “Jungleman” Cates, and Andrew Timothy will also be among those.

The above-mentioned poker professionals will be facing Malaysian businessmen and players Paul Phua and Richard Yong, as well as Lei Tim Meng, CEO of Cali Group. The event’s organizers announced that nine more businessmen from the Asia-Pacific region will take part in the historic event.
